Can I Move My Loved One into an Assisted Living Community Amidst COVID-19
February 17, 2021
Of course! Community living can be a very safe place to live during the pandemic and many families are moving ahead with their plans for assisted living and memory care for their loved ones. Our community, Chestnut Ridge Wallingford, continues to grow, and even in times that are filled with uncertainty, we are safely moving in new residents and welcoming them home.
At Chestnut Ridge, your loved one will interact with a staff specially trained in infection control and Covid-19 prevention. The controlled environment means fewer opportunities for infection and our universal testing protocols provide continuous monitoring of staff and resident health.

Health and safety are always a priority here at Chestnut Ridge Wallingford. While we know that these times are unprecedented, we have kept life in our community as normal as possible. Our enhanced cleaning and sanitation protocols around the community ensure that we are maintaining top notch cleanliness, including community spaces being cleaned multiple times throughout the day.
We follow all Pennsylvania’s guidelines for assisted living facilities. A full report of resources can be found here on The Department of Health’s website. These guidelines address visitors, staff, and an outbreak response should an outbreak occur in our community.
Per federal guidelines, the vaccine for COVID-19 has been made available to assisted living facilities nationwide. While this vaccine may provide our community with peace of mind, we commit to maintaining protocols that we have set, even after our residents and staff are vaccinated. We will continue to follow our testing protocols and safety and health precautions for our staff, visitors, and residents.
